
Our Story
Provencal Bakery has been baking artisan bread for restaurants, markets, and retail since 1998. As other lines of baked goods were added, owner Brenda Sabbag pursued a visible retail location and opened Provencal Bakery & Cafe.

Provencal Bakery moved to Newport from the original Middletown location (1998) in 2019 to the home of the former Frasch’s Bakery. Although artisan bread production was our main focus, we still served coffee, pastries and light bites. It has since undergone an exciting transformation adding more production and a new retail space. Today, we offer a variety of pastry, drinks,sandwiches, soup and take home meals, as well as our signature artisan bread. Indoor seating is limited but enjoy our new outdoor patio oasis watching the action on Broadway.
This busy Newport corner is the perfect place for a quick bite or a relaxing moment. Whether you're a regular customer or just passing through, our Newport location offers a wonderful experience with the same quality you’ve come to expect from Provençal Bakery.
